We took our ideas for the magazine advertisement, form the layout the Dandy Warhols used to promote their own album (below). I decided that this idea was more pleasing to the eye as the main character is seen clearly, and would be recognised, and the information that the audience needs is placed to the left and is easy to read.

HG - Location reccie

These are the photos I took for our location reccie of the Drama Hall at our school. This location will be used in the performance shots of our video. It is a dark location, with black walls and floors, and so we will use the lighting that is provided with the hall, and use it to our advantage to create a well light stage, and to create an atmosphere showing that he is playing to audience. We will use this location for our performance shots only and will use a variety of different shots to show our character whilst he is playing the guitar and lip syncing to the words at the same time, as if he really was playing.

HG - Call sheet and Risk Assesment.

  • This post shows the precautions that we have to go through before each shoot we do. This includes filling in a risk assessment sheet, and a call sheet. The risk assessment sheet involves writing about the location we are filming in, the hazards around us, identifying who and what might be harmed and why and then how we can reduce these risks. The call sheet includes writ ting out personal details such as the mobile numbers of the individuals in the group, the props and equipment we will be using, and who in the crew is responsible for these items of equipment.

  • The next section of the call sheet is the location in which we are filming, the shot number/section on our story board we are filming, the cast that is needed for that shoot, and finally the technical notes. The technical notes are the kind of shots we are doing, the main ideas we have for the shoot and what we will be using the equipment for. We take these sheets to our shoots to help us plan our shoot effectively. Filling these sheets in is vital to the safety of ourselves and the equipment we use, and also helps our shoots run smoothly.

HG - Audience research

We used a focus group for our audience research using people aged between 16 and 25. This is the age range that our music genre fits into, and so we asked questions such as ' what kind of attire/costume would expect an indie band member to wear'. The results gave us that extra bit of confidence so that we knew what we were doing was desired in a indie music video and it will be what our audience will want to see, and will fit the conventions as much as possible.

The research we did gave us the information to change and adapt our ideas we had already to meet the demands of an indie music video, and give the audience what they would expect and want to see. One of the questions we asked was, ' would you expect to see an outdoor performance scene in a indie music video', the majority of the answers we received back were 'yes' unsurprisingly. This gave us the idea to do a busking scene, were Jamie T would be in his worst stage of the video, and busking on the street for money. This shows the downfall of his career and him hitting 'rock bottom', we originally had an idea like this but our research gave us more precise ideas that we could use to please our audience. Our research was mainly positive and so this gave us a good feel to the start our film, and felt that we will meet the targets/requirements of a indie music video.

HG - Digi pack idea

Back: lenght 14cm width12.5cm. Front:lenght 14cm width 12.5cm.

Inside and Inside CD section

This is just an idea I had that we could potentially use or take ideas form for our digi-pack. I tired to get a simple background, and incorporate the guitar which is a iconic representation of Jamie T. The inside of my design is using the same background as the front cover, but i decided to add some different images for the section where the CD would go underneath.

JJ - Digipak

For my front image i will have Jamie standing with a guitar on his back. He will have his hood up smoking at a bus shleter with a clown and other weird characters sitting or standing with him. I want to convey the fact that they drink and the indy conventions in thealbum cover.
